In addition to the legal obligation to install vehicle disinfection equipment (Livestock Transmission Prevention Law), it is also necessary to install it for the local community, the same industry, and the company.

The purpose of installing the vehicle disinfection equipment and the target pathogens are described below.

Correspondence to livestock transmission prevention law

On October 1, 2011, in order to promote livestock farming by preventing the outbreak and spread of infectious diseases, some of the rules for enforcing the Livestock Infectious Diseases Control Law were revised and enforced. Livestock owners were obliged to install disinfectants.

Obligation to install disinfection equipment.

Article 8-2 of each Infectious Disease Prevention Law
  1. The owner of livestock specified by Cabinet Order, pursuant to the Ordinance of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries(MAFF), shall install disinfection equipment required for preventing the outbreak of the specific disease or monitored infectious diseases near the entrance and exit of cattle shed, other facilities and its site(excluding the site specified by the Ordinance of MAFF) specified by the Ordinance of MAFF.
  2. A person who enters the facility of the same paragraph where the equipment of the preceding paragraph is installed, pursuant to the Ordinance of MAFF, shall be disinfected his / her body by using the equipment in advance, also the things which is brought to the facility and specified by the Ordinance of MAFF.
  3. A person who puts a vehicle on the site of the facility of the same paragraph where the equipment of paragraph 1 is installed, pursuant to the Ordinance of MAFF, shall disinfect the vehicle by using the equipment in advance.

Correspondence to local communities, same industries and companies

In addition to the legal obligation to install disinfecting equipment, it can be said that it is necessary to install disinfecting equipment from the perspective of responding to the local community and the same industry and avoiding the business crisis of the company.

Protect the residents of the surrounding area!

There are pathogens that infect and parasitize humans from livestock (cattle, pigs, chickens), and this is called zoonosis.

As example of zoonotic, there is the Korean bird flu that occurred in December 2003.This influenza has been reported to be transmitted from livestock, and it also occurred in Vietnam in January 2004, and there are three cases have been reported to be infected human.Starting with this, epidemics were reported in Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia from 2004 to 2005.

Bird influenza has been outbreaks in 53 countries, including wild birds, since 2004, affecting 258 people and reporting deaths in 154 of them in 10 countries.
It can be said that it is necessary to install a disinfecting equipment for the purpose of preventing infection to the local residents.

Protect the same industries in the surrounding area!

The foot-and-mouth disease virus that occurred in Miyazaki Prefecture in 2010 is very contagious and infects most cloven-hoofed animals, including wild animals and livestock such as cattle, buffalo, pigs, sheep and goats. In addition, livestock lose their value as industrial animals due to developmental disorders, movement disorders, and lactation disorders that occur after the onset of illness, causing enormous damage to livestock farmers.

In the case of an infectious disease which causes damage spreads due to infection, it is necessary to install disinfectant equipment in order to protect not only your company but also the local industry.

Protect your company!

In the event of a livestock infectious disease, livestock farmers within a certain area may be restricted from moving or dispose of livestock.

In addition, even if your company is outside of designated area and your livestock products are not affected, you may be damaged by rumors due to media reports such as TV and newspapers.

By installing a disinfection equipment, the effect of preventing the invasion of bacteria and viruses that causes infectious diseases will be higher. It also leads to appealing "safety" to entering and exiting companies and affiliated companies. This enhances the self-defense effect, avoids reputational damage, and protects the company as a result.

As above, disinfection of vehicles can be said to be an important measure to protect the local community, the same industry, and the company, and to produce safe and secure livestock products.

In addition, the spread of infectious diseases may be caused by not only livestock farms but also vehicles of traders (feed factories, purchasers, etc.) entering and exiting in livestock markets, meat processing centers, livestock research facilities and such place.

It can be said that measures against livestock infectious diseases are required not only for livestock farms but also for the entire industry related to livestock.
